While Mt. Ararat's victory against Skowhegan wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles had just enough and edged out the River Hawks 5-3. The five-run effort marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

The win made it two in a row for Mt. Ararat and bumps their season record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Skowhegan, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Mt. Ararat will venture away from home to challenge Morse at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Shipbuilders have averaged an impressive 9.4 runs per game this season. As for Skowhegan, they will take on Bangor at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so the River Hawks' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
