Basketball Recap: South Garner Now 8-1 over Last Nine Games

South Garner won the last time they faced Willow Spring, and Kimaya Barnes did her part to make sure it happened again. The South Garner Titans strolled past the Willow Spring Storm with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 59-41 thanks in part to Barnes, who posted 19 points in addition to six assists and six steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Another player making a difference was Taylor Moore, who scored ten points and eight boards. She has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times she's played.

Despite the loss, Willow Spring still got an impressive performance from Taylor Gray, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 17 points and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Smith, who put up six points.

South Garner has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a massive bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.4 points per game. As for Willow Spring, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7.

South Garner didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 64-49 win against Corinth Holders on the 4th. Willow Spring has also already played their next game, a 49-46 victory against Cleveland on the 4th.
