Baseball Recap: Miamisburg Wins Going Away Against Springfield

Miamisburg lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Springfield, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Wednesday's game. The Vikings were the clear victors by a 10-4 margin over the Wildcats on Wednesday. The Vikings not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 23rd (when they won 17-0).

Logan Walker was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Miamisburg: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-11 otherwise. Bryce Vaughn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Miamisburg pushed their record up to 10-12 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Springfield, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15-1 record this season.
