Softball Recap: Hampton Bulldogs vs. Johnson County Longhorns
Hampton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They fell victim to a rough 23-0 defeat at the hands of the Johnson County Longhorns. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hampton of the 13-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2023.
Hampton saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lauren Smith, who went 1-for-2 with a stolen base.
Hampton's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Johnson County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.
Hampton will head out on the road to square off against Cherokee at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Johnson County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Happy Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Happy Valley is coming into the contest with five straight losses on the road, meaning Johnson County will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
