Basketball Recap: North Marion Starts Season with Loss on the Road

North Marion had to start their season on the road on Thursday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. The matchup between the Colts and the Dunnellon Tigers didn't end well, with the Colts falling 49-35. The Colts lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in January of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 60-13 score last time.

North Marion lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was JAMEYA BROWN, who posted 14 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was KANARA GORDON, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and nine boards.

The win got Dunnellon back to even at 1-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Marion will face off against Lake Weir at 12:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Dunnellon, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Citrus at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
