Northeast Academy's win ends three-game losing streak at home

Recap: Northeast Academy Eagles vs. Albemarle School Colts

The Northeast Academy Eagles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Albemarle School 73-57. That's two games straight that Northeast Academy has won by exactly 16 points.

Northeast Academy found their leader in underclassman Jake Parks, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Parks is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Dashawn Daye was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Several Colts players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chase Wentz, who scored 21 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Wentz continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan James, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and four blocks.

Northeast Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-12. As for Albemarle School, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-18.

Northeast Academy will be playing in front of their home fans against Oakwood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Oakwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last 13 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Albemarle School, they will head out on the road to challenge Pungo Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Pungo Christian Academy's favor as the squad sits on 11 straight wins at home while Albemarle School has been banged up by 12 consecutive losses on the road.
