Baseball Game Preview: Canyon View Falcons vs. Juab Wasps

For the second straight game, Canyon View will face off against Juab. The Falcons will take on the Wasps at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Canyon View is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.6 runs per game this season.

Canyon View is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Juab just ended the team's 17-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 11-2 to the Wasps. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Falcons couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Juab's part, Connor Cowan spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits.

At the plate, Austin Park was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs and two doubles. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in April of 2024. Kai Hansen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Juab was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .308 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Juab pushed their record up to 18-5 with the win, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Canyon View, their loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 12-1 and their overall record down to 20-4.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. Canyon View hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Juab struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs.
