Football Recap: Northern Lehigh Falls Despite Big Games from Garrett Smoyer and Chris Frame + How To Watch

Northern Lehigh lost against Notre Dame-Green Pond back in September of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Bulldogs took a hard 40-21 fall against the Crusaders.

Northern Lehigh's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chris Frame, who gained 143 total yards, and Garrett Smoyer, who rushed for 137 yards while picking up 7.6 yards per carry.

Faustie Capobianco had an outrageously good game for Notre Dame-Green Pond as he rushed for 99 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Capobianco didn't just play on offense: he also made 11 total tackles and defended one pass. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Striba, who picked up 79 receiving yards and one score.

Northern Lehigh's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Notre Dame-Green Pond, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Northern Lehigh and Notre Dame-Green Pond should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Bulldogs will square off against Wilson Area at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday with a big rank advantage (123 vs. 418). Meanwhile, Notre Dame-Green Pond (ranked 42nd) will meet Pen Argyl (ranked 172nd) at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
