Basketball Game Preview: Parklane Academy Pioneers vs. Jackson Prep Patriots

The Parklane Academy Pioneers will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Jackson Prep Patriots at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday. Parklane Academy will be strutting in after a victory while Jackson Prep will be coming in after a defeat.

While Pioneers fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Tuesday's season opener. They came out on top against Jackson Academy by a score of 51-43 on Tuesday. The win was nothing new for the Pioneers as they're now sitting on five straight dating back to last season.

Parklane Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoe Alford, who went 7-for-15 en route to 21 points. Another player making a difference was Carlyle Carruth, who posted 14 points and eight boards.

Meanwhile, Jackson Prep came up short against East Rankin Academy on Monday and fell 43-33. Jackson Prep has struggled against East Rankin Academy recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

Parklane Academy didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Jackson Prep in their previous meeting back in February, but they still walked away with a 58-54 victory.
