Volleyball Game Preview: Rich Township Raptors vs. Thornwood Thunderbirds

After both having extra time off, the Rich Township Raptors and the Thornwood Thunderbirds will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Rich Township beat Thornton 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Raptors.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Rich Township was: they took both sets by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-15.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Thornwood sidestepped Bloom for a 2-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their matchups with the Blazing Trojan: they've now won four in a row.

Thornwood had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-17, 25-22.

Rich Township's record is now 20-10. As for Thornwood, their record now sits at 17-13.

Rich Township was able to grind out a solid win over Thornwood when the teams last played back in September, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raptors since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
