Recap: Italy Gladiators vs. Kerens Bobcats
After flying high against the Cayuga Wildcats last Friday, The Italy Gladiators came back down to earth. Italy fell just short of Kerens by a score of 23-20. The match was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but Italy was just barely outscored by Kerens in the second.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kerens to victory, but perhaps none more so than Muziq Gunnell, who picked up 92 receiving yards and a touchdown, and also punched in a rushing score. Lane Lynch was another key contributor, throwing for 232 yards and two touchdowns.
Italy's loss dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Kerens, their victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-4.
Italy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Kerens will head out on the road to face off against Cross Roads at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
