Softball Recap: Immaculata Find Success

Immaculata's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Union Catholic Vikings, sneaking past 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Spartans have posted since April 21st.

The team relied heavily on Gianna Boardman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Vanessa Visnic, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Immaculata has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-15 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Union Catholic, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Immaculata will challenge Steinert at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Steinert's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Immaculata's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Union Catholic, they will be playing at home against Montclair at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
