It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Masuk had no problem doing just that on Saturday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Mercy Tigers a 7-0 shutout. The win was just business as usual For Masuk, who after 27 games remain undefeated this season.
Julia Bacoulis was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Bacoulis has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in eight consecutive pitching appearances. Bacoulis was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
