Recap: Bison Cardinals vs. Carter County Bulldogs
This season hasn't been kind to the Bison Cardinals, who are still winless after their fifth match. They were the victim of a tough 70-48 defeat at the hands of Carter County on Saturday. Bison was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Carter County apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Despite the loss, Bison still got an impressive performance from Rylee Veal, who scored 28 points along with three steals. Veal scored a full 58.3% of Bison's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Kyle Stadler , who scored seven points along with four steals.
Bison's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Carter County, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bison will take on Tiospaye Topa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Tiospaye Topa is ranked 147th, while Bison is ranked 152nd). Carter County will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Powder River County at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th.
