Recap: Genoa Christian Academy vs. Madison Christian Eagles
Genoa Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against Madison Christian by a score of 45-32. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Genoa Christian Academy also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Genoa Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Leah Kinley out in front who scored 16 points along with five assists and four steals. Kinley also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Norman, who scored 11 points along with six steals.
Genoa Christian Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-2. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.7 points per game. As for Madison Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Genoa Christian Academy will take on Elgin at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Madison Christian will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Berne Union at 6:00 p.m. on December 21st. Berne Union comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
