Softball Game Preview: Prairie du Chien Blackhawks vs. Lancaster Flying Arrows

Prairie du Chien and Lancaster are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2018, but likely not for long. The Blackhawks will look to defend their home field on Thursday against the Flying Arrows at 5:00 p.m. Prairie du Chien's pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so Lancaster's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Prairie du Chien's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 win over Platteville. The Blackhawks haven't had any issues with the Hillmen recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The result came thanks to Claire Kennedy's shutout, as she gave up just six hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Prairie du Chien saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ella Lange, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Those two RBI gave Lange a new career-high. April Smith was another, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.

Richland Center hit Lancaster with a five-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Flying Arrows fell 8-4 to the Hornets.

Prairie du Chien's win bumped their record up to 13-4. As for Lancaster, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
