Volleyball Game Preview: Bernalillo Spartans vs. Hope Christian Huskies

Bernalillo hasn't had much luck against Hope Christian recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. After both having extra time off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. The match will give Bernalillo their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Bernalillo took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Highland as they made off with a 3-0 win. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Bernalillo never let Highland on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-7, 25-22, 25-20.

Meanwhile, Hope Christian beat Valencia 3-1 on Tuesday.

Hope Christian had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-19.

Bernalillo's win bumped their record up to 6-8. As for Hope Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 10-4.

Bernalillo might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Hope Christian in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Spartans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
