Fossil Ridge has gone a perfect 3-0 against Castle View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The SaberCats will take on the Sabercats at 9:00 a.m. Fossil Ridge is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.2 runs per game this season.

Fossil Ridge heads in on the heels of a playoff contest on Friday. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of Broomfield.

Fossil Ridge got a good showing from Logan Hessler, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the fewest hits Hessler has allowed since back in April.

At the plate, Fossil Ridge saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Morgan, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Morgan is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Tyler Kephart also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Castle View faced Grandview in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Sabercats fell 5-2 to the Wolves. The Sabercats' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Tommy Feldhake was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Castle View's defeat dropped their record down to 19-7. As for Fossil Ridge, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 20-6.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. Fossil Ridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.8 home runs per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 1 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.

Fossil Ridge skirted past Castle View 12-11 when the teams last played back in March of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for the SaberCats since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
