Baseball Recap: Hilltop Comes Up Short

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Hilltop's offense. They fell just short of the Sweetwater Red Devils by a score of 1-0 on Wednesday. The Lancers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2022.

Hilltop has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.67 runs. As for Sweetwater, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-11.

While Hilltop had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
