Basketball Recap: West Platte Gets the Win

West Platte won the last time they faced Lawson and things went their way on Tuesday too. The West Platte Bluejays came out on top in a nail-biter against the Lawson Cardinals, sneaking past 59-56. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bluejays.

Lawson's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaac Willoughby, who went 9 of 14 on his way to 24 points and eight rebounds. Those 24 points gave Willoughby a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Grote, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 17 points.

West Platte's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Lawson, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-2.

West Platte will welcome Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lawson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 52-47 loss against Plattsburg on the 11th.
