Recap: Houston County Fighting Irish vs. Big Sandy Red Devils
The Houston County Fighting Irish can now show off seven landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They breezed by Big Sandy on the road to the tune of 62-35. Winning may never get old, but Houston County sure is getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Despite the loss, Big Sandy still got an impressive performance from Cole Pierpoint, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Garrett Cagle, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.
Houston County is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Big Sandy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-12.
Houston County will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against McEwen at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (McEwen is ranked 206th, while Houston County is ranked 223rd). As for Big Sandy, they will head out on the road to face off against Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
