Soccer Game Preview: Grand County vs. Union

The Grand County Red Devils will face off against the Union Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Grand County needed a bit of extra time to put away South Sevier. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Rams. The win was nothing new for the Red Devils as they're now sitting on three straight.

They hit South Sevier with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Jake Mason (2), River Shaw, and Cristian Valencia.

Meanwhile, Union kept a clean sheet against Wendover on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 8-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Union's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Grand County, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Grand County's way against Union when the teams last played back in April of 2023, as Grand County made off with a 6-1 win. In that matchup, Grand County amassed a halftime lead of 5-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Wednesday.
