Basketball Game Preview: Corsicana Tigers vs. Kaufman Lions

Corsicana is 0-6 against Kaufman since November of 2018 but things could change on Friday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Corsicana Tigers duke it out with the Kaufman Lions at 4:30 p.m. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Corsicana is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Midlothian Heritage, falling 85-61. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1022nd, while the Jaguars are ranked 438th).

Meanwhile, Kaufman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The game between them and Red Oak didn't end well, with Kaufman falling 63-49.

Kaufman's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Corsicana, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Corsicana and Kaufman were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but Corsicana came up empty-handed after a 52-51 loss. Can Corsicana avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
