Basketball Game Preview: Rabun County Wildcats vs. Athens Academy Spartans

The Rabun County Wildcats will venture away from home to face off against the Athens Academy Spartans at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Rabun County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Last Thursday, Rabun County was able to grind out a solid win over Providence Christian Academy, taking the game 56-49. The 56-point effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rabun County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Hayes Free, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points along with eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Huey Blalock, who posted 14 points and eight assists.

Meanwhile, Athens Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 59-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Banks County.

Rabun County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-3. As for Athens Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
