Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Takes a Loss

Charlotte Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They were outmatched by the Charlotte Latin Hawks and fell 65-13. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Ella Manry was Charlotte Christian's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Lanie Edwards was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds for Charlotte Latin. Edwards has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Alison Archibald, who posted ten points and six steals.

Charlotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Charlotte Latin, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Charlotte Christian and Charlotte Latin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Charlotte Christian (ranked 522nd) will meet Covenant Day (ranked 119th) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Similarly, Charlotte Latin (ranked 85th) will meet Cannon (ranked eighth) at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
