Recap: Constantine Falcons vs. Parchment Panthers

The Constantine Falcons had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.7 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They breezed by Parchment on the road to the tune of 46-0. The result was nothing new for Constantine, who have now won five matches by 20 points or more so far this season.

Constantine's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Rushawn James, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Bennett Vandenberg and his 114 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Constantine's win.

The team's defense also helped out by holding Parchment to a paltry 52 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Constantine's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out three times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Josh Outlaw and his two sacks.

Constantine's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 8-1. It's not like the team was facing easy opposition over that stretch either, as it included 8-1 Lawton and 6-3 South Haven (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 63.9% over those games). As for Parchment, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Constantine will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Olivet at 1:00 p.m. Olivet will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 339th, while Constantine is ranked 81st). Parchment does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
