Bakersfield Christian waltzed into their contest on Wednesday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They were the clear victors by a 15-3 margin over the Highland Scots. That 12 run margin sets a new team best for the Eagles this season.

Ryan Burgess was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Deakin Brinkley, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Bakersfield Christian's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-3-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Highland, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Bakersfield Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Scots: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
