Baseball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft was the 12-2 winner over Carson when they last played one another back in June of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. The Toreadors lost 13-2 to the Colts on Saturday. Toreadors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Colts since on Saturday.

Taft has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost ten of their last 11 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for Carson, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-9.

Taft and Carson could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Toreadors will challenge Burroughs at 6:30 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (825 vs. 209). Meanwhile, Carson (ranked 631st) will meet Banning (ranked 201st) at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
