Salem is a perfect 8-0 against Minerva since October of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Quakers will take on the Lions at 7:00 p.m. Salem knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Minerva likes a good challenge.

Salem is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Alliance just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They lost to the Aviators on the road by a 49-34 margin.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 31 points the game before, Minerva was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They were outmatched by West Branch and fell 56-6. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Warriors are ranked 102nd).

Salem suffered their first road loss, dropping their record down to 3-3. As for Minerva, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2.

Everything came up roses for Salem against Minerva in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Quakers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
