Gunderson barely beat Overfelt the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Grizzlies never let the Royals get on the board and left with a 17-0 victory on Friday. The Grizzlies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by ten runs or more this season.
Dezirae Regalado was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Gunderson got a big performance out of Madison Arceneaux, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs Arceneaux has posted since back in March of 2024. Jaelyn Vejar was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.
Gunderson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .750. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matches.
Gunderson's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Overfelt, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.
