Soccer Game Preview: Asheboro Hybrid Academy vs. Uwharrie Charter Academy

The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors will venture away from home to square off against the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Non Varsity Opponent with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory was nothing new for Asheboro Hybrid Academy as they're now sitting on three straight.

McKenna Voncannon and Karis Moore scored all three of Asheboro Hybrid Academy's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 34 goals.

Meanwhile, Uwharrie Charter Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They blew past the Cougars 8-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Uwharrie Charter Academy's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Southwestern Randolph are ranked 374th).

Uwharrie Charter Academy's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Asheboro Hybrid Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 11-3.

Asheboro Hybrid Academy might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Uwharrie Charter Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
