Softball Recap: Livermore Cowboys vs. San Ramon Valley Wolves

There's no place like home for Livermore, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They had just enough and edged the San Ramon Valley Wolves out 6-4. For Livermore, this counts as revenge for the 2-1 loss San Ramon Valley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2023.

Kaci Norton tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits.

At the plate, Annie Polaski was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Laine Macosky, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

On San Ramon Valley's side, Sophia Jin was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Even though they lost, San Ramon Valley didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with ten strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livermore only tossed six.

Livermore has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for San Ramon Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-7.

Livermore will head out on the road to challenge Dougherty Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Livermore is facing Dougherty Valley at the right time seeing as Dougherty Valley is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for San Ramon Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Amador Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so San Ramon Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
