Softball Recap: Lindale Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lindale entered their tilt with Mabank on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 25-1 back in March.

Makynli Zemer and Emma Watkins did most of the damage at the plate: Zemer scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Watkins went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, one run, and one double. Those five RBI gave Watkins a new career-high. Merrick Gary was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

Lindale hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least one batters in three consecutive games.

Lindale's record is now 16-7-1. As for Mabank, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Lindale will head out on the road to take on Van at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vandals will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mabank, they will host Athens at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
