Baseball Recap: Chowchilla Picks Up Sixth Straight Win at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Chowchilla rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the Taft Wildcats 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Tribe have posted since April 15th.

The team relied heavily on Tristan Beardsley, who went 3-for-4 with one double and one RBI. Chowchilla is undefeated when Beardsley posts three or more hits, but 12-13 otherwise.

Chowchilla pushed their record up to 15-13 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.7 runs over those games. As for Taft, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-15.

Coming up, Chowchilla will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Hanford West at 4:30 p.m. Taft does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
