Volleyball Recap: Lordstown Comes Up Short

Lordstown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pymatuning Valley Lakers. If the Red Devils were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Lakers when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-15, 23-25, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Lordstown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Kaycee Was had 18 assists and six digs. With that strong performance, Was is now averaging an impressive 12.2 assists per game.

Lordstown's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Pymatuning Valley, they pushed their record up to 7-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Lordstown has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against St. John on the 18th. As for Pymatuning Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Chalker on the 18th.
