Softball Recap: Christ Our Rock Lutheran's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Wednesday as neither Christ Our Rock Lutheran nor Elverado made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Silver Stallions came out on top against the Falcons by a score of 5-2. That's two games straight that the Silver Stallions have won by exactly three runs.

Emma Williamson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Alayna French was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kylie Nalewajka, who went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

The victory (which was Christ Our Rock Lutheran's seventh in a row) raised their record to 9-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Elverado, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 7-3.

Coming up, Christ Our Rock Lutheran will face off against East St. Louis at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Silver Stallions are facing the Flyers at the right time seeing as the Flyers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Elverado, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against Dongola on the 17th.
