Basketball Recap: Great Oak Makes It Eight in a Row at Home

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Vista Murrieta, Great Oak was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They walked away with a 57-49 victory over the Chaparral Pumas. Given the Wolfpack's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Pumas are ranked 413th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Great Oak's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-6. As for Chaparral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9.

Great Oak will square off against Temecula Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Temecula Valley knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 matches -- so hopefully Great Oak likes a good challenge. As for Chaparral, they will take on Murrieta Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Murrieta Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 70.6 points per game this season.
