Basketball Game Preview: Hopkins County Central Storm vs. McLean County Cougars

The Hopkins County Central Storm will venture away from home to face off against the McLean County Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopkins County Central has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since December 30.

Hopkins County Central will face McLean County after dropping another heartbreaker against Dawson Springs on Friday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 3.1 of beating them. Hopkins County Central took a 71-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dawson Springs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (56), the Storm still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, McLean County lost to Apollo on the road by a 60-46 margin on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Hopkins County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 5-12. As for McLean County, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

Hopkins County Central didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against McLean County in their previous meeting back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with an 83-79 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hopkins County Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
