The Christ Prep Academy Patriots pushed their score all the way to 72 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 83-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kansas City East Christian Academy. Christ Prep Academy has not had much luck with Kansas City East Christian Academy recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Leading Kansas City East Christian Academy to victory were Kevin Johnson and Jared Devine. Johnson dropped a double-double on 22 points and 16 rebounds, while Devine scored 31 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Devine also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Lewis, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds.

Christ Prep Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-5.

Christ Prep Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hyman Brand Hebrew Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. As for Kansas City East Christian Academy, they will face off against Oak Park at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oak Park will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
