Baseball Game Preview: Golden Valley Grizzlies vs. West Ranch Wildcats

For the second straight game, Golden Valley will face off against West Ranch. The Grizzlies will face off against the Wildcats at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Golden Valley has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since April 7.

West Ranch hit Golden Valley with a seven-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Grizzlies came up short against the Wildcats, falling 9-1.

For West Ranch's part, Mikey Murr was excellent, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Nolan Stoll, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: West Ranch kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Golden Valley only managed five hits.

Golden Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 8-16. As for West Ranch, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-9.
