Softball Game Preview: McClain Tigers vs. Washington Blue Lions

For the second straight game, McClain will face off against Washington. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Blue Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. McClain is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.6 runs per game this season.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, McClain turned things around against Washington on Monday. They put the hurt on the Blue Lions with a sharp 19-3 win. That looming 19-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.

Kyndee Williams was a major factor no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Williams was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Amaya Ryan was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Brie Cummins was another key player, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

McClain kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Washington is on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11. As for McClain, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.
