Softball Recap: Nitro Wildcats vs. Oak Hill Red Devils
Nitro proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 12-10 victory over the Oak Hill Red Devils. 12 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
McKenzie Hyatt made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up three earned (and seven unearned) runs off nine hits. Hyatt was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Zoe Hyatt was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Madeline Given, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double.
Nitro kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Nitro's record is now 5-12. As for Oak Hill, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-7.
Nitro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 12-9 victory against Elk Valley Christian on the 18th. As for Oak Hill, they have also already played their next contest, a 12-3 win against Mount View on the 18th.
