Softball Recap: Oak Ridge Makes It Five in a Row at Home

With a playoff win on the line, Oak Ridge rose to the challenge on Friday. Everything went their way against the Folsom Bulldogs as they made off with a 7-1 victory. The result was nothing new for the Trojans, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Ellison Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on six hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Brooklyn Paratore, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April. Emery Glaser was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Oak Ridge kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Folsom only managed six hits.

Oak Ridge's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 22-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games. As for Folsom, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-13-2 record this season.

Oak Ridge didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 4-3 win against Tracy on the 20th. Folsom does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
