After a string of seven wins, West Washington's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Mt. Vernon Marauders by a score of 3-2.

West Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 19-5. As for Mt. Vernon, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-14 record this season.

West Washington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 20-0 victory against New Washington on the 27th. As for Mt. Vernon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 4-1 loss against Greenfield-Central on the 27th.
