Soccer Game Preview: Birdville vs. Grapevine

The Birdville Hawks will take on the Grapevine Mustangs at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Birdville managed to keep up with Richland until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Birdville came up short against Richland, falling 5-0.

Meanwhile, Grapevine didn't have quite enough to beat Ryan on Friday and fell 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Mustangs came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 238th, while the Raiders are ranked 534th).

Grapevine's goal came courtesy of Tyler Thompson, who's now up to ten this season.

Birdville has been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games. That's still a better percentage than their 1-14 record this season. Grapevine's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.
