Teton fought the good fight in their overtime contest against South Fremont on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Cougars were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 21-20 defeat. The matchup marked the Timberwolves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Drew Moss, who picked up 162 receiving yards and one touchdown. He got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 82 yards. Another receiver making a difference was Canon Kunz, who picked up 100 receiving yards and one score.

Meanwhile, Sugar-Salem waltzed into their contest last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Cougars as they made off with a 41-20 victory. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-0.

Teton better keep an eye on Frank Fillmore. He was instrumental in Sugar-Salem's win, rushing for 126 yards and a pair of TDs on only eight carries, while also throwing for 128 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Those 126 rushing yards gave Fillmore a new career-high. Sugar-Salem's leading receiver Ace Clark was Fillmore's top target yet again, picking up 41 receiving yards, while also rushing for 53 yards and one score on only five carries.

Sugar-Salem was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 334 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

Sugar-Salem's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Teton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.

Teton was taken down by Sugar-Salem 45-7 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Timberwolves, Dawson Mcinelly (who rushed for 103 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, and also picked up 34 receiving yards and one touchdown) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
