It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Perquimans can now relate to. They fell just short of the Voyager Academy Vikings by a score of 3-2 on Friday. The Pirates' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Perquimans saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ben Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one run.

Perquimans' defeat dropped their record down to 24-6. As for Voyager Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-3 record this season.

While Perquimans had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
