Basketball Recap: Palma Comes Up Short

Palma has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They fell 74-62 to the Carmel Padres on Wednesday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Monday (61), the Chieftains still had to take the loss.

It was another big night for Simeon Brown, who went 12 of 18 en route to 29 points along with five boards and four steals for Carmel. Brown is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Warren Blut, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 15 points.

Palma's defeat dropped their record down to 15-5. As for Carmel, the win was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

Palma wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 71-34 victory against Everett Alvarez on the 31st. Carmel has also already played their next game, a 67-57 loss against Pacific Grove on the 31st.
