Softball Preview: Philomath Warriors vs. Stayton Eagles
Philomath and Stayton are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2018, but likely not for long. The Philomath Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Stayton Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Philomath will come in still looking for their first win of the season.
Philomath's hitters might be in the hot seat on Saturday considering what happened against Stayton back in April. They lost 10-0 to the Eagles. While getting shut out isn't ideal, Philomath has not been shut out since back in March.
For Stayton's part, Kenzi Hollenbeck was incredible, going 1-for-2 with two runs, a triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Abagail Archuleta, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Philomath's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Stayton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season.
