Baseball Recap: Southern Finds Home Field Redemption Against Christian Educational Consortium

There's no place like home for Southern, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Christian Educational Consortium Cougars on Monday.

Alex Coba spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits.

At the plate, Lariel Torres was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Liant Perez also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Southern's win bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Christian Educational Consortium, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern will challenge Collins at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Collins will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Southern surely won't give up without a fight. As for Christian Educational Consortium, they will take on North Bullitt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Christian Educational Consortium 3, North Bullitt 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
